The Christmas tree is one of those customs which are food for the soul, nourishment for the inner man. -C.G.Jung

Dr. Marcus De Carvalho of HPR Treatment Centers said there are studies that show decorating early has mental health benefits : "Just by celebrating holidays early, we actually improve our mood, it invokes good feelings from the past.” “Depression is something where we’re internally focused, its almost like a trap door but with the holidays, it’s an opportunity to give and not think inwardly, the holidays are about serving others and being outwardly focused.”

Enjoy and decorate a Christmas Tree after Thanksgiving !

The Christmas tree is an old symbol that is part of our collective Archetypes as it is explain by Dr Jung in 1957.

"The Christmas tree, which in the longest and darkest night of the year symbolizes the return of the light, is archetypal. The tree symbolizes the numen, the psychic fate of the person, his inner personality."

The tree has a cosmic significance—it is the world-tree, the world-pillar, the world-axis : the Christmas tree is the world-tree.

But, as the alchemical symbolism clearly shows, it is also a transformation symbol, a symbol of the process of self-realization.
