The brain is the most complex and mysterious organ, the one which try to self analyse.
I want to give you a state of the art of the brain-computer interfaces.
A quick reminder, the brains contains neurons which communicate with each other by electric impulses at the synapse.
The most advanced technology is being developed by Neuralink ( Elon Musk's company). Their implant is placed in the brain by a robotic system guided by a neurosurgeon, then the implant is paired to an app via Bluetooth so one can control their computer by simply thinking.
One of the first application will be to help people with neurologic difficulties to communicate with speech synthesis. it can also be used to restore limb function after a stroke.
For the long-term, it will change the way we interact with ourselves and our environment
A caveat is there are ethical Dilemmas about these potential interfaces, which are supported by Artificial Intelligence software (AI) . Like the Autocorrect function which is very useful but can send unintended messages . the question is Is that really me ? or Am I a product of the implant ? it's also crucial to prevent our autonomy from private compagnies or hackers as this technology challenge one's privacy : it could be aware or your thoughts.
